Harold "Dorrell" Briscoe, DMin

Rev. Dr. Harold Dorrell Briscoe is a writer, speaker, historian, minister, professor, and public theologian. His focus areas include race, religion, public policy, history, and liberation theology. He is married to Tracy and is a father to Luke, Noah, Amelia, and Ella.
Dorrell worked in local and state government for five years across Florida, Texas, and Louisiana, primarily focusing on urban planning and neighborhood revitalization. Dorrell teaches public administration, management, leadership, history, religion, and theology at the undergraduate level.
He is the author of the bestselling book, “There’s A Storm Comin: How the American Church Can Lead Through Times of Racial Crisis,” and was featured on CNN in June 2020.
He was the Lead Minister of The Six: Eight United Methodist Church in Durham, North Carolina, and the University Chaplain and affiliated faculty at William Peace University.

Dorrell is in his final year of a PhD program in American History at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. His dissertation is on the organization, operation, controversy, and impact of President Harry Truman's 1947 Committee on Civil Rights.
