TWC Policies and Procedures
Students can schedule up to two hours of writing consultations and two hours of content tutoring per week. However, you can also schedule appointments many weeks in advance, so if you anticipate visiting the TWC frequently, you can schedule several sessions well ahead of time.
Because our schedule tends to fill up quickly, we ask that appointments be cancelled at least 18 hours in advance.
You can cancel your appointment from your Bookings confirmation email or by logging into Outlook, selecting your appointment from your calendar, and editing your RSVP to "decline."
If you cancel on the same day as your appointment or miss your appointment, no other students can meet with the tutor at that time. To protect our tutors' time and to help ensure that students who want an appointment in the TWC can get one, we have a strict policy regarding missed appointments. Repeated no-shows or same-day cancellations may result in your scheduling privileges being revoked. Our writing consultants and tutors are happy to work with you on a collaborative project, but we do ask that all members of the group are present for the session. Please indicate on your appointment report form that you are working on a group assignment and include the names of your group members.
Our tutors and writing consultants are not permitted to work with you on a take home exam or quiz unless you have received express permission from your professor to do so. If you have gotten this permission, please have your professor notify Layne Porta or Mistie Watkins before your tutoring session. This policy upholds the Rollins College academic honor code, which states: “On my honor, I have not given, nor received, nor witnessed any unauthorized assistance on this work.”
